A. How do I access my PayPal account if I forgot my password?

If you've forgotten your PayPal password, don't worry. Just follow these steps to create a new one:
Go to www.paypal.co.uk
Click Log In.
Click Forgotten your email address or password?
Enter your email address plus the security code shown and click Continue.
Choose to reset your password by receiving an automated phone call, text message or an email and click Continue.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

B. How do I add, edit or remove a postal address on PayPal?
Go to www.paypal.com/uk and log in to your account.
Click the Settings icon beside 'Log Out'.
To add an address, click + beside 'Address', enter your details and click Add Address.
To edit an address, click Edit under the address you want to edit, make the change and click Change Address.
To remove an address, click Delete under the address you want to remove.
If adding a military address:
Enter your Number / Rank & Name into the first address field.
Enter your Battalion into the second address field.
Enter your Operation (or similar) into the 'Town' field and leave the 'County' field blank. Enter your BFPO into the Post Code field.
Note:
You can't remove an address until you add another address and make it the home address.
You can't remove an address from your account if it is your credit card billing address.
If you are updating an address that is linked to a credit card or a debit card on your PayPal account, update your address with your card issuer before you update it with us.

C. Why can't I change my address to a different country?

When you move to another country, you need to close your PayPal account and create a new account using your new address. It's not possible to change the address on your PayPal account to a new country.

If you have addresses in both countries, you can keep your PayPal account and create a new one, but only one of your accounts (if any) should be a Business account. You'll need to use different email addresses for each account. An email address cannot be registered to two separate PayPal accounts.

Here’s how to close your old PayPal account:
Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
Click the Settings icon beside 'Log Out'.
Click Close your account.
We may ask you to confirm ownership of the account before closing it.

After you close your account, any transactions that are in progress are cancelled.

Here’s how to create a new PayPal account:
Go to www.paypal.com
Click Sign Up at the top of the page.
Select your country or region and your language.
Select the type of account you want to create, and then click ‘Get Started.’
Enter your information, and then click ‘Agree and Create Account.’
After you have confirmed your email address, you can use your new account.

To add a number, click + beside 'Phone number', enter the number, select the type of phone and click Add Number.
To edit a number click Edit beside the number you want to change. Make the change and click Change Number.

You can add up to 7 email addresses to your PayPal account, but the same email address can't be added to more than one PayPal account.

To add/remove an email address:
Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
Click the Settings icon beside 'Log Out'.
To add, click + beside 'Email address', enter your new email address and click Add Email.
To remove, click Delete beside the email you want to remove.
After you add and confirm an email address, you can make it the primary email address on your PayPal account. Here's how:
Go to www.paypal.co.uk log in to your account.
Click the Settings icon beside 'Log Out'.
Click Edit beside the email you want to make primary.
Click Confirm this email
Note: To avoid problems in receiving payments for any eBay sales, update the email address on your eBay listings before removing it from your PayPal account.

F. How do I confirm my email address?

Until you confirm your email address, you cannot receive money. When you add an email address to your PayPal account, we send you an email to confirm that you own the email address. Click the link in the email to confirm your email address. If you don't receive the email, you can request that we send it to you again. Here's how:

Go to www.paypal.com/uk and log in to your account.
Click the Settings icon beside 'Log Out'.
Click the email address you want to confirm.
Click Confirm this email.
Click the link in the email and enter your PayPal password to confirm your email address.
If you still don't receive the email:

G. How do I add, update or remove my credit/debit card on PayPal?

When adding a card, the billing address should match the address registered on your PayPal account. Here's how to add a card to your account:
Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
Click Wallet at the top of the page.
Click Link a card.
Follow the prompted steps to add your card
When you add a card, we made a temporary $1 charge to your card. It's a regular fraud prevention method to ensure that your card is valid. It's a common method used by banks to check if a card is active. This charge may take up to 30 days to be reversed, depending on your card issuer.

Note:
You can only add a card that's registered in the UK
If adding an American Express card please be aware that some merchants cannot accept this card type. You may wish to add a different card as an alternative
Here's how to update/remove a card:
Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
Wallet at the top of the page.
Click the card you want to update or remove.
Click Edit or Remove.
